Kamakura is one of most popular cities in Japan, with a long and rich history. There are many temples and shrines in the city. Kamakura shows different faces for each season. This time, it’s summer. Komachi shopping street has many restaurants and gift shops. Kamakura became very famous around the end of 12th century because Kamakura was the capital of the first government opened by Shogun, MINAMOTO Yoritomo. Since Shogun became governor, Samurai flourished in Kamakura. The Buddhism (worshiped in the temples) and the Shintoism (worshiped in the shrines) became the basis of Samurai spirits. If you want to see the birth place of Samurai sprits, come visit Kamakura.
