June in Japan is the rain season called "Tusu, 梅雨." Tsuyu means plum rain. It was name because Japanese plum fruit during this rain season. One out of three days will be rain in June. It is called Minazuki which means no water left in the heaven.

During the "Tsuyu," Ajisai flowers will bloom. Ajisai is very beautiful flower with rain. From So, when you travel Japan in June, don't forget to bring umbllera or rain coat. June Japanese summer starts.

It's not so hot in June, but people start changing outfits from apring to summer.

Nageiredo

Travel Information

Nageiredo (投入堂) is a inner sanctuary of Mitokusan Sanbutsuji temple. It is the most popular spot in Tottori pref. The building of Nageiredo is constructed under the cave of hard cliff. It was constructed in about 1,000 years ago. Because its unique structure and historic value, Nageiredo is registered as the national treasure of Japan. The temple's record said, Sanbutsuji was established in 706. Because of its rich history, there are many historical assets. Nageiredo is located on the Mt. Mikoku, and it pass leading to Nageiredo is Shugendo. Therefore, it requires hard climbing cliffs and dangerous mountain road. This Shugendo let Shugenja experience the reincarnation.

There is parking and restroom.
Admission: 600 yen for adult, 300 yen for kids. There is a group discount.
Open: 8:00 to 15:00
You can buy Waraji for climbing shoes.
Caution: Because the pass to Nageiredo requires hard climbing. You must wear trekking shoes, and light clothing. It will be closed in rain and snow.
Cannot enter alone. If you are alone traveler, you must wait until other visitors, and must climb with them.
No fire, no food, no garbage, no pet. Be quiet.
This is Shugendo, so clothing must be simple and skirt, ski pole are not allowed.
