Cape Tomyo (燈明崎, toumyozaki) is the cape in Uraga, Kanagawa. In the Edo Period, there is the Japanese style lighthouse for over 220 years. From over 7.2 km of distance, ship could see this light. Currently, the base rock are still the original shape and the lighthouse was rebuilt in 1988. There is beach in this cape. You can enjoy great view of Tokyo Bay.

Cape Tomyozaki

One of the best place to enjoy great view of Tokyo Bay. Since this place is not major travel spots, you can enjoy quiet moment. There is still parking space and restroom. Around the lighthouse, there is small beach. This cape is also popular spot for fishing. From the beach, you can catch bigger size of fish.

The original lighthouse was built in 1648. The light was visible from 7.2 km of distance. Since this original lighthouse was built, this lighthouse has lighted everyday, not even missing one day, for over 220 years. The original one has destroyed in Kanto Great earthquake 1923, and current one is rebuilt in 1988.
