Tokinokane

Travel Information

Tokinokane (時の鐘) is a tower of time chime located in Kawagoe. It is a symbol of Kawagoe and remains the view of old Castle town. This tower was placed from early Edo period in Kawagoe. The original tower was constructed by Sakai Tadakatsu about 400 years ago. Current tower is 4th tower built in 1893. Even, today, it rings a bell four times a day just like it was used to be.

There is no parking or restroom.
Ring a bell at 6:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00
