Takeshita St. (竹下通り) is the famous shopping district in Harajuku. There are many stores which sale cute Japanese style clothes and accessories. If you are looking for "Kawaii Fashion?" Takeshita Street is one of the best.

Takeshita Street has been the fashion leader since late 70's. There are many unique and interesting shops in Takeshita Street. Most of the fashion stores are managed by individual, and not many large franchised stores.
Because it is very hard to survive as the fashion shops in Harajuku, only the best ones survives, and that's why Takeshita Street is the young fashion leader in Japan.
