Sogenji Sazaedo

Sogenji Sazaedo (曹源寺栄螺堂) is located in Ota, Gunma Prefecture. It was established in 1187. The main hall is also known as Sazae Hall. It is a unique spiral structure building constructed in 1793. There are 100 scriptures placed in this hall. This is considered one of three major Sazaedo halls in Japan.

Time: 10:00 to 12:00, and 13:00 to 15:00
Admission: 300 yen for adults. Free for kids.

0. at Isezaki Station.
1. use Tobu Isezaki Line to Nirakawa Station.
2. walk north.

Sogenji Sazaedo
Sogenji Temple is Soto Buddhism Temple located in Ota, Gunma Prefecture. It was established in 1887 by Nitta Yoshishige to pray for his adopted daughter.

The main hall is called Sazaedo. It was constructed in 1798. Sazaedo is a sprial structure building that has only one way to travel from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor and come back. It is a huge building and inside of the hall, there are 100 Buddha Statues that are imitations of all Kanto's famous temples.
