Detailed Travel Guide

Kifune Shrine Okumiya
This area was where Kifune Shrine was originally built and enshrines the same god as the main hall, the god of water and rain. According to shrine legend, the shrine was founded when, in the early fifth century, the god Tamayori Hime sailed up the river from Osaka Bay in an amber-colored boat, landed here, and founded a small shrine here venerate the god of water. The "boat-stone," which relates back to this legend, is found
within its precincts, and it is said that if you fake back with you one of the small stones piled on it, you will be safe at sea.

In addition, there is a huge "dragon cave," a special "power locus" in Onmyodo and Feng Shui thought, which it is said that when a carpenter dropped a chisel into it during repair work once, the sky promptly clouded over, a sudden squall blew, and the chisel was blown into the air.
