In Japan, an arrow has the power to defeat the evil. Archers shoot arrows, at a target 27 meters away, on which the Japanese character for oni or devil is marked. By hitting the target, they wish the devil to be exorcised. The lead archer is chosen from the current lord of Ogasawara Style Archery, and other archers are also chosen from Kamakura Traditional Archery club. There are 6 archers represented as the brothers.
