Chichibu Night Matsuri (秩父夜祭) is one of the 3 major parade float festivals in Japan. It happens at Dec. 3 at Chichibu city, Saitama Prefecture. This great night festival has over 200 years and registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. There are 6 great parade floats marching during the festival. Also, there are great winter fireworks at the same time. Before the parade, all floats are displayed at the town.

Chichibu Night Matsuri
Chichibu Yomatsuri is one of the three major parade float festivals in Japan. It happens on December 3, at Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture.

There are 6 great traditional parade floats that travel through the town of Chichibu from Chichibu Shrine. This festival starts in the middle of Edo period, and has over 200 years of history. Those float called Yatai in Japanese will be decorated with many lanterns that lit the night of Chichibu.

Also, during the festival, many local cultural performances such as Kabuki will be demonstrated. During the parade, there are beautiful winter fireworks that have a great harmony of the night of Chichibu.

This festival is designated as the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
