Detailed Travel Guide

Chiba Castle

Type: Hilltop
Built by: Tsuneshige Chiba.
Built in: 1126

The ruin is one of the oldest castle but the design of current Tenshu-kaku is taken from late 16th. So, it is very different from the real Chiba Castle. Original Chiba castle was much more simple structure. However, there are still many ruins and figures left in the original place and the current castle is placed on the exactly same location.

This place was also known as the hunted spots because people believed that the heads of Masakado Taira’s decoys were buried in here.
