Hosenji's Setsubun festival (宝仙寺の節分会) is known as Samurai Parade Setsubun. Hosenji is located in Nakano, Tokyo. Setsubun festival is known as throwing beans for defeating the evil and bringing luck to you. It holds on February 3. People of the year will be wearing the costume of warrior Monk Style. Then, they parade from Myotoku Inari Shrine to the temple. After the parade, there is the Buddhism reception and ceremony. The fire burns the demons spirits around the people. People throw the wood with their bad spirits into the fire.

Hosenji's Setsubun festival
Setsubun-e at Hosenji Temple is one of the unique Setsubun Festival. It has the Samurai Parade and also the ritual ceremony of Shingon Buddhism combines together. Throwing beans are done by those Samurai Warrior Monks played by the people of the year.

Warrior Monk Parade: 15:00 at Myotoku Inari Shrine
In 1951, the weapons and armors are found in this temple. In 1953, the temple decided to add the Samurai parade in their Setsubun festival at February 3. It became the powerful parade and event of this temple since then. Many warrior monks parade from Myotoku Inari Shrine to Hosenji Temple.

Hosenji was established in 1087 to 1094 by Minamoto no Yoshiie who was the famous General of all Samurai Genji clan.
