Tokugawa-en Garden (徳川園) is one of the Japanese style garden located in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. It was built by the 2nd lord of Nagoya Castle of Tokugawa clan, Tokugawa Tomomitsu in 1695 when he moved this place for his retirement. It is a huge pond surrounding style garden with waterfalls.

There are parking and restroom.
Open: 9:30 to 17:30 (last entry 17:00)
Closed: Monday (close next day when Monday is the holiday).
Admission: 300 yen for adult.
There is a group discount.

Access
0. at Nagoya Station.
1. use Subway Higashiyama Line to Sakae Station.
2. use Meitetsu Seto Line to Morishita Station.
3. walk south.

Tokugawa-en Garden
Tokugawa-en Garden is Daimyo Style Garden located in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. This garden was a part of the house of Tokugawa Tomomitsu, the 2nd lord of Nagoya Castle during the Edo period. He built this garden in 1695 after his retirement. After his death, his Samurai used to live until the end of the Edo period. After the Meiji Restoration, Owari Tokugawa clan used this house.

It has the feature of a pond surrounding style garden. It has also the waterfalls, small valley, a groove that create the flow of the water into the ocean. The dynamic change of the scenery is the main attraction of this Daimo Garden.
