Tenshin Remains (天心遺跡) is one of the tourist spots located in Kita-Ibaraki. This place is used to be the house of Okakura Tenshin. Tenshin helped the development of Japanese culture to the modern world. He loved this scenery of Izura shore. Rokkakudo hall is the symbol of this site.

Admission: 300 Yen
Time: 8:30 to 17:30 (Apr. to Sep.) to 17:00 (Oct. and Feb. to Mar.) to 16:30 (Nov. to Jan.)
Last entry is 30 min. before the close.
Close on: Monday. If Monday is a holiday, closed on the next day. 12/29 to 1/3

Tenshin Remains
Okakura Tenshin is one of the famous Japanese artist who lived from the end of Edo period to the middle of Meiji Period. He developed the Japanese style painting and helped the education of the next generation. He introduced the Asian style art to the western world. Not just the painting, but all Japanese cultures such as tea ceremony, flowers and ceramics that all combined and he explained that creat the harmony of Japanese arts.

He loved this scenery of Izura shore and moved this place and constructed Rokkakudo that is built on the sea cliff where it has a great view of Izura shore.

This site contains the house of Tenshin and the Samurai gate that both designated as the important cultural assets.
