One of the Oldest Temples
Kimii Temple (紀三井寺) is one of the oldest temple located in Wakayama Prefecture. It was established in 770 by Chinese priest Iko. Iko traveled from China and brought Buddhism to Japan. The entire temple is located on Mt. Nakusa that is 228.6m tall with a great view of Wakayama. Kimii means 3 wells of Wakayama. Its water is chosen as 100 best Japanese water. It is the 2nd temple of 33 major temples of Western Region. It is also known as Sakura Spot of Wakayama Prefecture.

Admission: 200 yen for adult, 100 yen for senior and under junior high.
There is a group discount.

1. use JR Wakayama Line to Kimii Station.
