Kanasana Shrine

Kanasana Shrine (金鑚神社) is one of the oldest shrines in Saitama Prefecture. It is located in Kamikawa Town. It is the 2nd highest shrine in Musasi land. The legend said that Yamato Takeru no Mikoto, when of the greatest Shogun in Japanese Myth, established this shrine when he was conquering the eastern land of Japan. It enshrines the great mountains and trees in this shrine. It has a spiritual atmosphere here.

There are parking and restroom.

Access
0. at Kumagaya Station.
1. use JR Takasaki Line to Honjo Station.
2. use local bus Niijuku.
3. walk east

Kanasana Shrine
Enshrins: Amaterasu Omikami and Susano no Mikoto

Kanasana Shrine is the 2nd top shrine in the land of Musashi. It was established by Yamato Takeru no Mikoto when he was conquering the eastern land of Japan in Japanese Myth.

During Kamakura Period, One of the Musashi 7 lords, Kodama family highly respected as the protector of their land. It was also highly respected by Tokugawa Government during Edo period.

There are many historical sits in this shrine.

Like Suwa shrines, this shrine has no main hall and the mountain itself is the sacred script.

Taho Tower
It was constructed in 1534 by priest Zenryu. It is registered as the national important cultural assets.
