- Use Meishin Expressway to Otsu or Maibara.

- Use Tokaido Shinkansen to Maibara.

Ome, Hikone, and Maibara cities are located on the south of Lake Biwa. There are many ruins and historical spots such as Hikone Castle, one of the 12 existed remaining castles, Azuchi Castle, and Ome Hachiman streets. Also, there are many events related with Lake Biwa are held in this area. One of the major event at Lake Biwa is the man power bird contest, "Toriningen Contest."
