Yoshida Koyama Castle (吉田・小山城) is a hilltop castle located in Shizuoka Prefecture. It was constructed in 1571 by Baba Nobuharu when Takeda clan conquared the land of Suruga. This has the unique feature of Takeda style castle, especially crescent moat. This castle has 3 layered crescent moats that is very unqiue to this castle. There is Tenshu as the histocial museum. Moats and baileys are remaining in the great condition.

There are parking and restroom.
The museum admission: 200 yen for adult, and 100 yen for kids.
The museum closed on Monday.

1. use JR Tokaido Line to Fujieda Station.
2. use local bus to Yoshidakoko.

Yoshida Koyama Castle

Built in: 1571 by Baba Harunobu.
Class: Reconstructed.

Koyama Castle was constructed in 1571 by Baba Harunobu. Takeda Clan constructed this castle to attack Takatenjin castle of Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1582, when Tokugawa Ieyasu and Oda Nobunaga attacked Takeda clan and the land of Kai, this castle was defeated and abandoned.

It has all kinds of the features of Takeda Style castle. Especially, 3 layered Crescent moats are the unique feature to this castle. Legend said, when this castle was follen, all the women jumped into the moat, and ever since then, red leeches started living this moat.
