Mt.Tonosu (多峰主山) is a popular hiking spot located in Hanno, Saitama prefecture. It is a small mountain that is 271m high. However, it has a great view of all Kanto regions and mountains including Mt. Fuji. There are many hiking trails and very easy for kids and seniors. Because it is located about 1 hour from Tokyo, it is very popular hiking spot.

Mt.Tonosu

Mt. Tenran: 194.6m
It was used to be called Mt.Atago. In Edo period, the mother of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi donated 16 rakan statue. After that, this mountain was called Mt.Rakan. Top of the mountain has many unique rocks and pine trees that presents the view of Japanese garden. You can see Mt. Fuji and other mountains at the observatory.

Legend said this pond never dries out.

16 Rakan Statues:
The mother of the 5th Shogun Tsunayoshi, Keishoin asked the priest of Noninji temple to pray for great health for her son when he had a serious sickness. Later, Tsunayoshi recovered greatly. Keishoin deeply appreciated and donated 16 Rakan Statue at Noninji temple.
