This Ashigaru Nagaya is very few existed Nagaya House in Japan. It is registered as the national important cultural assets. It was constructed in 1842.

The each residence was borrowed by the castle lord of Shibata. Each residence has dinning rooms, kitchen, small rooms and a huge room. It shows the life style of lowest rank of Samurai.
