Osawa Pond is the oldest pond for Japanese garden. It was constructed for the Saga Imperial Palace. It is imitated Lake Dotei in China. There are beautiful Bamboo forest, Plum forest and surround by Sakura. In the pond, there are about 3,000 Lotus that bloom in July. The lake is about 1km round, and great spot for walking. The view of Daikakuji from the other side of the pond is one of the popular scenery of Daikakuji. It is one of three moon view ponds in Japan since Heian period.

In Autumn, it has splendid view of Koyo, and covered with snow in winter.
