Mt.Kimpu, or Mt. Kimpou (金峰山) is one of 100 best Japanese mountains located on the border of Yamanashi and Nagano Prefecture. It is 2,599m tall and has a great panorama view of all Yamanashi and Nagano including Mt.Fuji and Minami Alps. The trekking route has also great view as well. Most of the trail is covered under the beautiful forest with many mountain trees, and once it opens, it has panorama view. On the top of Mt. Kimpu, there is a huge rock called Gojo Rock.

There are mountain house on the trail.
It is very easy to access from Otarumi Mountain pass.

There is a shuttle bus from Enzan Station.

Mt. Kimpu is chosen as one of 100 best Japanese mountains, new 100 best Japanese mountains and 100 best flower mountains in Japan.

It is a part of Okuchichibu montains as a major mountain. Nagano prefecture called it Mt. Kimpou, and Yamanashi prefecture called Mt. Kimpu.

It was used to be the sacred mountain of Shugendo.

There are several trails to approach this peak. The easiest way is from Otarumi mountain pass.
