Lake Kinrin is a popular tourist spot in Yufuin, Oita Prefecture. Onsen Water spring from the bottom of the lake. Therefore, from Autumn to Winter beautiful morning mist appears. This beautiful phenomenon is one of the main attraction of Yufuin.

Lake Kinrin is about 100mx70m wide and 2m deep. So, it is very shallow lake.
Kinrin means the golden scale of fish. Confucian Mori Kuso named this lake because when fish jumps in evening, the sun light lightens up the scale of fish and makes it golden color.
