Katsuyama Miura House

Katsuyama Miura House (勝山三浦邸) is a traditional house located in Katsuyama, Maniwa. It was built by the last lord of Miura clan of Katsuyama right after the Meiji Restoration. It remains the great architecture of Japanese house in Meiji period. There is a restaurant which offers great local food of Katsuyama. There are many beautiful flowers such as, Hydrangea, Azalea, Sakura and Tsubaki. You can also enjoy beautiful Autumn leaves in Fall.

Close on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Open: 11:00 to 15:30

Katsuyama Miura House

Miura Clan became the lord of Katsuyama in 1764, but after the Meiji Restoration in 1872, the new government took his land and house. The last lord of Miura, Takatsugu built this house with the support of all his citizen. There is a beautiful Japanese garden and the house remains the great architecture of Meiji period. Because of Sui tree of the garden, this house is also called Suinoki goden.
