Kagurazaka (神楽坂) is located western Shinjuku. Current Kagurazakai is a modern Tokyo town, but it was used to be a town of Geisha in Meiji and Taisho era. There are many established restaurants and small streets which gives you the life of Geisha used to be.

The main area is around the Kagurazaka Street between Kurazakaue and Kagurazakashita.

In late Meiji to Taisho period, Kagurazaka was one of the most popular downtown, and considered as Ginza of Yamanote. Like the name of Kazurazaka, literary means Kagura slope, there are many slops in this area, and they make unique and interesting sceneries. Especially, narrow back streets, stone floors, and many established stores which Kagurazaka Geisha used perform their arts, are still exist.
