Hibara Shrine (檜原神社) is one of the oldest Shrine in Nara. It is the original location of Ise Jingu Shrine. In the time of Emperor Suijin, he asked royal princess to establish Ise Shrine here. There is unique 3 entrances Torii gate and enshrines Mt. Miwa. Entire field is filled with beautiful small rocks like garden.

There is parking and restroom.

Hibara Shrine

Enshrines:Amaterasu-Omikami, Izanagi, Izanami.

Hibara Shrine is ancient style shrine of Japan. It has no worshiping or main building. It has only 3 gates Torii and enshrines Mt. Miwa itself. This is the ancient style of Japanese shrines. This place was the former position of Ise Jingu Shrine. Amaterasu Omikami of the imeprial palace was enshrined here. Therefore, this shrine is also called Moto-Ise. It has a great view of Nara field.
