Genjiyama Park (源氏山公園, Genjiyamakouen) is small mountain park located west side of Kamakura Station. There is Minamoto no Yoritomo (源頼朝) Stature who is the first Shogun who started the Government. The park is located on the Daibutsu hiking course from Kitakamakura to Daibutsu. There are many seasonable flowers like Sakura, Ajisai and other flowers.
Tourist Info.
There are restrooms and coke machines. Nice to have lunch at open space. However, be careful there are many wild birds which attack for food.

Genjiyama was the place where HachimantaroYoshiie who is the legendary hero also known as original samurai in Japanese history launched on an enterprise to warship for Northern Japan.
For the 800 anniversary of Kamakura Government, the city build Minamoto no Yoritomo (源頼朝) stature (2m high).
Genjiyama park is also one of the best Hanami spot in Japan. In the spring, you can enjoy Sakura, and it has also great autumn fall. On June, you can also enjoy Ajisai.
