Ayu Falls (鮎滝) is located Shinshiro, Aichi. It is on the Kankyo Valley of Toyokawa River. Ayu Falls literary means waterfall of Sweetfish. It was named for the unique way of catching Ayu fish. When Ayu jumps this falls to go upper, people uses a special rod to catch them in the air. That unique way of fishing, is a tradition since Edo period and still carried over now.

Terminal Station: Shinshiro

Access From Nagoya
by car: Use Tomei Express way to Toyokawa, and drive north on Ina Road.
by Train: Use Shinkansen to Toyohashi, and use JR Iida Line to Shinshiro.
