Suhara-juku (須原宿) is one of the post towns of Kiso-ji, Nagano prefecture. It is 39th post town on Nakasendo Road. There were about 104 houses and 24 hotels in Suhara-juku. Today, there are many traditional houses that has the scenery of Edo period. Mizubune, the water boat, is the main feature of this town. Also, Joshoji temple is the another feature feature of Suharajuku.

Suhara-juku

Suhara-Juku is 39th post town located on Nakasendo Road. It was typical post town. It was moved to current location in 1717. It is the oldest town in Kiso-ji Road.

Joshoji Temple
Jyoshozenji Temple is Zen Temple located in Okuwa, Nagano Prefecture. Sanmon Gate, Kuri and the main Hall are registered as the national important caltural assets. Unlike other temple in Nagano, Jyoshozenji takes the Kyoto Temple style. It was established in late 14th century. It is one of the 3 major temples in Kiso. It has also beautiful Japanese garden in this temple.
