Kanayama Shrine is one of the 100 best Japanese castles located in Ota, Gunma Prefecture. It was built by Iwamatsu Iezumi who is the line of Nitta Yoshisada. There are many stone walls and dry moat that are preserved in great conditions. It is located on the top of Mt. Kanayama that is 235m tall. The rulers of this castle had been changed many times and in 1584 when Toyotomi Hideyoshi attacked Odawara Castle, this castle was defeated and abandoned after that.
