Boso-no-mura is a unique museum that aims for visitors to learn about history through experiencing traditional lifestyle and craft making of the Boso Area, as well as through exhibiiton of artifacts excavated from various parts of Chiba Prefecture.
Crafts-making Area
Shops, samurai residences and farmhouses of the latter half of the Edo Period to the beginning of the Meiji Period are reproduced here, giving the visitor a realistic look of the daily life at the time. Visitors can learn about traditional craftwork and the lifestyle of the times through demonstrations and participation in various activities. There are 16 different merchant houses and 5 other houses.
Samurai House and Farmer Area
There is the middle class samurai house of Sakura domain. There are 3 different village headman's house around this area.
In this park, there are many Kofun, the acient mausoleums of Japan.
