Amanawa Shrine (甘縄神明宮) is the oldest shrine in Kamakura. It was established in 710 by Someya Tokitada.
Legend said, the leader of Genji, Minamoto no Yoriyoshi prayed his son's safe birth, then Minamoto no Yoshiie was born. He donated the building in 1081. Therefore, this shrine was highly respected by Samura and Shogun.
