Old House of Niijima Jo (新島襄旧宅) is located in Annaka Gunma. Niijima Jo is one of the famous Christian and scholar during early Meiji period. His house is a popular high rank Samura House of Nagaya style. Two rooms, Doma and storage are remains original. Behind the park, there is Kufun Park behind the house.

Niijima Jo was born in Edo in 1843 and grown as the Samurai of Annaka. When he was learning Dutch in Edo, he attracted the idea of Christianity and illegally escaped Japan and travel to America in 1865. He studied Christianity and became a priest. After the Meiji Restoration, he came back to Japan and traveled all over Japan for the mission.
