Mt. Kimpu is chosen as one of 100 best Japanese mountains, new 100 best Japanese mountains and 100 best flower mountains in Japan.

It is a part of Okuchichibu montains as a major mountain. Nagano prefecture called it Mt. Kimpou, and Yamanashi prefecture called Mt. Kimpu.

It was used to be the sacred mountain of Shugendo.

There are several trails to approach this peak. The easiest way is from Otarumi mountain pass.
