Mt. Karasawa is also the ruins of Karasawayama Castle. It is 247m tall. It is considered the best mountain castle in Kanto region, and one of the seven best castles in Kanto. Sano clan ruled this castle for many years, and the famous Daimyo Uesugi Kenshin attacked it many times, but it never fall. Unlike other Kanto Castle, it has stone walls. On the top of the mountain which is also the main bailey, there is Karasawayama Shrine.
