Hokoji Temple

Hokoji temple (放光寺) is one of flower temple located in Kosyu, Yamanashi prefecture. It was established in 1184 by Yasuda Yoshisada. As the temple of Genji Clan, it was highly respected by Takeda Clan. The principal image was created in Heian Period. It is known as flower temple that has many seasonable flowers. Especially, in Spring, Sakura, Peach and Plum bloom beautifully.

There are parking and restroom.
Admission: 300 yen. There is a group discount.
Time: 9:00 to 16:30

Hokoji Temple

Hokoji is Shingon Buddhism Temple located in Kosyu, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was established in 1884 by Yasuda Yoshisada, the grandson of Minamoto no Yoshimitsu. After Yasuda clan was abandoned, Takeda clan helped this temple. In 1582, when Oda Nobunaga attacked Kai, this temple was burnt down, but Tokugawa Ieyasu restored this temple. The main hall was built in between 1688 to 1704.

Statues
Vairocana: the principal image, made in Heian period.
Rāgarāja: The Oldest Rāgarāja statue in Japan, made in Heian period.
Kongorikishi Statues of the gate: Made in Kamakura period.

Water Mill
Built in Edo period.
