Chogakuji is Shingon Buddhism Temple located in Tenri, Nara Prefecture. It was establshied in 824 by Priest Kukai. It has a beautiful seasonable flowers and many historical important cultural assets, such as building, buddist statues. Most of the building is over 300 years old and some of them are over 1,000 years old and still remaining in this temple.
Shoromon Gate (National Important Cultural Asset)
Over 1000 years old constructed by Priest Kukai when this temple was established. It is the oldest Shoromon gate in Japan.

Constructed in 1783.

Jizoin and Jizoin Main Hall (National Important Cultural Asset)
Constructed in 1630. Current Office. There is a beautiful gardens.
Amidason Statue and Kannon Statues(National Important Cultural Asset)(National Important Cultural Asset)
Made in 1151. The central Statue is Amidanyorai and both sides are Kannon. They are one of the best works for late Heian period. Its style takes to the design of Kamakura style statue. They are the oldest statues that has eyeballs.
Tamonten Zochoten Statues (National Important Cultural Asset)
Made during 9th to 11th century.
Made in Kamakura period.
Sakura, Azalea, Iris, Hydrangea, Maple, Camellia.
