Kanegasaki Castle Town (金ヶ崎城下町) is located in the middle of Iwate Prefecture. It is the castle town with many real remaining Samurai Houses. The town structure of the castle town is the same as it was used to be. So, you can feel the real Samurai residence. Because of this beautiful Samurai town scenery, this view of the town is registered as the preserved scenery with a group of traditional houses.

Kanegasaki Castle Town
Kanegasaki Castle and its castle town were built in 1644. The castle is surrounded by the Samurai Residence and town residence is located on the west side to the Oshu road.

There are 5 Samurai Houses are remaining here and the scenery of the castle town is still the same. Those Samurai Houses are open for public and you can see the real life of Samurai in time. Some of them are still in use as well.
