Ishiwari Sakura (石割桜) is one of the popular spots in Morioka city, Iwate Prefecture. Over 400 years old Sakura trees that grow between the huge rock. The tree breaks the rock into the half and strongly grows. You can enjoy beautiful cherry blossom at the end of April. This Sakura is Edo Higan, and 4.6m wide and 11m tall. It is registered as the special natural monument.

Ishiwari Sakura
Ishiwari Sakura is the cherry blossom that grow between huge rock. This place was used to be the residence of Karo, the high rank Samurai of Morioka Castle.

The rock is 21m round size. The Sakura tree is over 400 years old Edo Higan Sakura. The size is 4.6m round and 11m tall.
