Horaisan (蓬莱山) is one of the shugendo practice place located in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture. It was opened by Priest Shodo about 1200 years ago. It is also known as the Autumn leave spots. It has a beautiful Koyo around the middle of November. There are also many beautiful waterfalls around this sacred place.
Horaisan is one of the 3 great Horai mountains in Japan. It was opened about 1200 years ago by Priest Shodo. It was used to be a great practice place in Kanto.
It has many beautiful nature around it and also known as the best Koyo spots in Tochigi prefecture.
