Saito Museum (齋藤美術館) is a museum of tea sets and tea related arts located in Gujo, Gifu prefecture. The house of the museum is also the national cultural assets. Saito Family was very strong merchant. This museum displays all their treasures. Also, they are famous tea masters. Front side of the house is also a tea cafe.

Admission: 300 yen for adult, 200 yen for kids. There is a group discount from 20 persons.
Open: 9:00 to 17:00 (till 18:00 on August)
Close on Thursday expect August.

2. use local bus to downtown.

Gujo Saito Museum

Saito Family was famous tea master for over 270 years during Edo period. As the tea master, they collected many important tea sets, Kakejiku scroll, and drawings for over years. It also displays tea house for the ceremony and Suikinkutsu, the water harp.

Those valuable tea sets and other treasures are stored in their storage for 270 years. Therefore, all of them are preserved in great condition. It was tradition to keep them secret and never show to the other people. However, for all the tea ceremony lovers and the city of Gujo, the former lord of Saito family decided to show them to the public. Therefore, today, all those important treasure of tea art are available to see for all visitors.
