Sumida Park

Sumida Park (墨田公園, shumidakouen) is one of the best 100 Sakura Spots in Japan located right next to Sumida River. There are about 1000 Sakura planted along with the riverside. Those Sakura make beautiful flower tunnel in Spring. During the Hanami period which is between end of March to middle of April, there are a lot of ceremonies or events, such as traditional dance, music or Nursery rhyme song. Also, there many Yatai which sell food, toys or snacks in this time.

There are parking. Also, nice to see Sakura from Sea Bus. There is the one of the biggest Fireworks in summer.

0. at Tokyo Station
1. use JR Yamanote line to Ueno (6 min.)
2. take Ginza line to Asakusa (5 min.)
3. walk to east (5 min.)

It was used to be the private park of Shogun family. 8th Shogun of Tokugawa, Yoshiie opened some spots of park so that everyone can enjoy Hanami. He planed a lot of Sakura on both side of Sumida river. Now, it's opened for public.
